The Origin of OriPure
Why was OriPure created?
Not to replicate a certain classic tone.
Not to reproduce a specific effect.
And not merely out of nostalgia.
The true beginning was born from a realization during years of practical production. Throughout our long experience in mass-producing pickups, we discovered something remarkable — when we slowed down the winding process, using a single-axis coil winder to hand-wind each coil individually and intentionally recreate the subtle irregularities of traditional craftsmanship, the resulting pickup exhibited a qualitative transformation.
This meticulous winding technique brought forth richer harmonics and overtones, along with more sensitive dynamics and response. By carefully selecting and combining different enamel wire gauges, precise winding counts, and magnets with varied flux densities, each OriPure Pickup achieves exceptional tonal balance and clarity. While preserving its own sonic character, it also captures the natural resonance of the guitar’s wood — delivering crystal-clear and silky highs, articulate and penetrating mids, and tight, punchy, well-defined lows.
That is the very essence behind the founding of OriPure: To share our understanding and perception of tone, and to let more people experience the power of pure sound.
The Extension of Sound
As OriPure pickups gradually gained recognition and affection from musicians and luthiers alike, a new question emerged: What if “pure tone” extended beyond the pickup itself — into the entire signal chain?
Five years later, we carried the same spirit of “slow, deliberate craftsmanship” into the core of amplification — the Output Transformer. This time, the process was even slower and more demanding than pickup production.
Every OriPure Output Transformer is fully hand-wound, using a paper-insulated construction. By isolating each copper layer with paper dielectric material, we effectively lower the dielectric constant, reduce stray capacitance, raise resonant frequency, and employ high-grade oriented cold-rolled silicon steel laminations to increase inductance.
The result is a transformer that delivers superior high-frequency response, enhanced low-frequency power, greater transparency, and more natural tube dynamics — a level of authenticity and musicality that mass production simply cannot replicate.
Although this process dramatically reduces production capacity, what we gain in return is something invaluable — the raw, pure, and life-infused tone that defines the essence of true tube amplification.
